What happens at a Regatta?

  • The day begins pretty early
  • The boats need to get unloaded from the trailer and rigged up for the race
  • Parents need to set up our camp site
  • Parents set up food for the rowers to snack on between races and usually get some coffee
  • The rowers will have a tent to hang out under and plenty of food to eat.
  • Once the racing starts everyone migrates to the water’s edge to see the races come down the course
  • The top 3 places usually receive a medal.
  • After the racing is completed the boats are de-rigged and stowed back on the trailer
  • Parents help clean up the hospitality center
  • Rowers are expected to remain at the race site until the event is concluded and all equipment is packed and loaded
