What happens at a Regatta?
|
-
The day begins pretty early
-
The boats need to get unloaded from the trailer and rigged up for the race
-
Parents need to set up our camp site
-
Parents set up food for the rowers to snack on between races and usually get some coffee
-
The rowers will have a tent to hang out under and plenty of food to eat.
-
Once the racing starts everyone migrates to the water’s edge to see the races come down the course
-
The top 3 places usually receive a medal.
-
After the racing is completed the boats are de-rigged and stowed back on the trailer
-
Parents help clean up the hospitality center
-
Rowers are expected to remain at the race site until the event is concluded and all equipment is packed and loaded
